For some reason, everything around here seems to be named
in honour of Rossland’s Olympic ski champion from the late 60’s. In fact, this isn’t much of an honour-- the scenery is
surprisingly unspectacular considering this route crosses a mountain range.
What is spectacular, though, is the ride. The pavement is in excellent
condition, hammered by neither excessive traffic nor climate. Add to this
the well engineered layout of long, wide open, predictable sweepers and you’ll
find your enthusiasm restrained only by the top speed of your bike. Or the
100-kmh (60-mph) speed limit. You know, maybe we should call this road the
Nancy Greene Destination Highway. Now that’s an honour.
