What is so mysteriously captivating about this DH? It’s hard to put your finger on it. Maybe it’s that for almost half its length, the sweeping asphalt mirrors the shoreline of six different lakes in the picturesque and historic Nicola Valley. Maybe it’s that classic, golden dry, interior rangeland— sometimes wide open, sometimes sprinkled with statuesque pines. It doesn’t hurt that the Coquihalla Highway absorbs most of the heavy Merritt - Kamloops traffic. Or that the lack of development (at least so far) lets you feel far from the madding crowds. Perhaps some mysteries are better left unsolved. Or perhaps you should stop thinking so much and just crack the throttle.

Riders Reviews:

"This is one of my most traveled roads, simply due to its proximity to where I live. My favorite part is the first 30 kilometers coming out of Kamloops, as the fast turns and generally good pavement quality is enjoyable. It gets bumpier the closer you get to Merritt, but the scenery improves. Traffic is light, but a lot of tractor trailers use this road, so buffeting can be an issue at times. It can often also be quite windy and unpleasant and somewhat dangerous to ride under those conditions. Otherwise a great quick 40 minute trip from Kamloops to Merritt." -Jason Elliott roall@yahoo.com
